The Boise State telephone system is identified by the area code 208 and the prefixes 426, 447, or 562.

University Dialing Instructions - January 1, 2006

All numbers at Boise State (Main Campus, West Campus, Canyon County Center, and Student Housing) dialing another Boise State number --Dial last 5 digits
6-xxxx for Main Boise Campus
2-xxxx for West Campus and Canyon County Center
7-xxxx for Student Housing

Local Calls - Dial 8 + the number.

Emergency 911 Calls - Dial 911 and wait for the call to connect.

Incoming Calls - Incoming calls to BSU may be placed to the desired extension by dialing extension number listed in the Boise State Directory.   Incoming collect calls or 3rd party number calls to Boise State will not be accepted.

Direct Dial Long Distance for Idaho, All Other States, and Canada 8 + 1 + area code then 7 digits

Toll Free Dialing 8 + 1 + toll free number

International (Overseas) & Mexico Dialing 8 + 011 + required numbers, ie. city code, country code.
There can be a delay of up to 12 seconds when connecting, do not hang up and redial before the call connects.

Directory Assistance - Local & National 8 + 411 (Current charge is .95 cents per call). Our dial tone provider, Time Warner will provide directory assistance.

To Enter a Repair Request or Report Telephone Trouble: Enter a Service Request through the following web site: http://support.boisestate.edu. You must have a GroupWise account to enter a request via the web. If you do not have a GroupWise account or access to the Internet, dial 426-4357. A Dept. ID is needed to enter a Service Request.
Directories: Boise State Directories are available at the following web site: http://www.boisestate.edu/directory/. The site includes a searchable employee directory and printable directories for departments and other information. A desktop version of the Qwest Directory and the State of Idaho Directory may also be accessed through the web site.
Corporate Calling Cards are available for those individuals who travel or have a need for a calling card. Call 426-1433 for information.
