Post the new implementation schedule on the network.bosiestate.edu web site.  Compose informative article to be published in the University Update.

 


Site Survey/Building Walk Through

On-going (one month before project install date)

Building walk through to gather information regarding each telephone set currently in place.  This information will be recorded on an Excel master worksheet will be used to determine replacement phones, create port plans used to install phones (cut sheets), and phone configuration batch files (BAT files).

 

Install dates can be viewed in Addendum R-1

 

Master worksheets will include information on:

·        Current phone set

·        Replacement phone set

·        Extension numbers

·        Additional extensions

·        Voicemail

·        Current wire

·        Current wire availability

·        Wire to be installed

·        Department

·        Phone owner

·        Hunt group info

·        Other miscellaneous information

 

Phones will be replaced based on the following

(Every effort will be made to replace display phone sets with Cisco 7960 phone sets)

·        Non-display phone sets replaced with Cisco 7912 phone sets (when CAT-5 is available or prudent to install)

·        Non-display phone sets replaced with Sci-Tech analog phone sets (when not prudent to install new wire)

·        Display phone sets replaced with Cisco 7960 phone sets (when CAT-5 is available or prudent to install)

·        Display phone sets replaced with Sci-Tech analog phone sets (when not prudent to install new wire)

 

 



Building Installation Plan

On-going (three weeks before project install date)

Chris Ball, Brian Foster, Joshua Marsh, Barbara Schenk, John Cooknell, Jason Smart, Joshua Smart, Brian McDevitt and Stan Smith

 

Chris Ball, Jason Smart and Brian McDevitt will determine where new wiring will be pulled. Heat tickets will be created for all wiring changes. 

 

Chris will create a plan of attack based on the information gathered during the building walkthrough.  This plan will include firm dates for each portion of the install.

 

Above members will meet to discuss work orders, and the Building Installation Plan.  Changes can be made in this meeting.

 

 

Orientation Training

On-going

Stan Smith and Joshua Marsh

 

Previous to each building install, Stan will contact departments to offer a group training session and to pass out additional training materials.  Stan will explain the installation procedure and field questions from those involved.

 

Joshua will update training information on the Telephone Network Services web site.

 

 

Phone Install

On-going

Chris Ball, Brian Foster, Ben Johnson, Joshua Marsh and Stan Smith

 

Chris will configure phone sets as well as voice gateways. As Brian, Ben and Joshua install phones, Chris will delete old numbers and hunt groups out of the Ericsson switch.  Joshua will be available on site during installation for training questions.

 

 

Building Exit Review

On-going

Brian Foster, Joshua Marsh and Stan Smith

 

A member of telephone services will stop by each building office to review if customers needs have been met to the best of our abilities.  Stan will review the findings from this walk-through and act accordingly.


 

Removal of LIMS

On-going

Chris Ball

 

As lines are removed from the Ericsson system, Chris will consolidate remaining lines in an effort to remove LIMs.

 

 

Final Sweep

October 2005

Chris Ball and Brian Foster

 

After each building has been completed, Chris and Brian will convert miscellaneous lines to the IP system.

 

Turn Off Ericsson

November 2005

Chris Ball and Brian Foster

 

After the last line is removed, Chris will turn off the Ericsson.  The remaining LIMs will be salvaged and the project will be complete.
