Controlling listening volume during calls                                           Back to FAQ

To change handset receiver volume, press VOL key.  There are three volume steps:  normal, loud, and very loud.  After the phone has been “on-hook” for a few seconds, the handset receiver volume automatically resets itself to "normal volume."  Each of the first two presses of the VOL key raises the volume by one step.  The third press of VOL resets it to "normal."  This sequence then repeats as the VOL key is pressed:  Normal, loud, very loud, back to normal, and repeat.

To change speakerphone volume, use the slide control on the right side of telephone.  Sliding this knob towards the rear of telephone increases speaker volume.  When using speakerphone, experiment with speaker volume control to obtain clearest sound with fewest interruptions.  Speakerphone performance will vary from call to call.  Sometimes a very small change of speaker volume will greatly improve intelligibility and reduce "dropouts" in hearing the distant party through the speaker.
