Domain Name System (DNS)
DNS is a general-purpose distributed, replicated, data query service chiefly
used on the Internet for translating hostnames into Internet addresses, as
well as the style of hostname used on the Internet (though such a name is
properly called a fully qualified domain name).
The University Network Engineer is responsible for DNS service on the Boise
State University network.
