Domain Name System (DNS)
DNS is a general-purpose distributed, replicated, data query service chiefly used on the Internet for translating hostnames into Internet addresses, as well as the style of hostname used on the Internet (though such a name is properly called a fully qualified domain name).
The University Network Engineer is responsible for DNS service on the Boise State University network.
