Additional Telephone Information for FY07

Arrangements for all telephone service must be coordinated through the OIT Business Services unit.  This includes service for Grants and other entities using University services. Boise State departments or other entities using University services should not contact dial tone or other telephone service providers for any telephone service.  All invoices for telephone services are consolidated, paid by OIT Business Services and charged back to departments to take advantage of payment processing savings.  Please call 426-1433 if you have questions.

The State of Idaho Contract for Long Distance Service, In-bound 800 Number Services, and Calling Card Services, are in the process of being awarded to Qwest.  OIT Business Services will coordinate the move from current providers to Qwest when the State contract is finalized.  Teleconference Services and Videoconference Bridging Services have been awarded to AT&T.  Long distance, calling card, and other rates are reviewed and adjusted regularly to allow recapture of all taxes and surcharges.  University departments are not allowed to purchase pre-paid calling cards through other Vendors due to audit, call tracking, and other issues.

Time Warner is the dial tone provider for Boise State University.

The State of Idaho has contracts with several wireless providers.  Cingular is currently providing the majority of service for campus departments.  See the following website for cell phone and PDA information:  http://network.boisestate.edu/Telephone/cellinfo.htm.

These contracts are mandatory for agencies of Idaho State government.

Questions:  Contact OIT Business Services, OIT_Business@boisestate.edu or call 426-1433.
